Air Greenland is an airline undergoing rapid development, and this growth creates an ongoing need to recruit for both existing and new positions. We are therefore looking for someone who would like to join a dynamic team in the department that helps keep air traffic moving in Nuuk.
About the position
As a Flight Operations Officer in our Operations Control Centre (OCC), you and your 12 colleagues will be responsible for maintaining operational control of Air Greenland's entire fleet. This includes ensuring that aircraft and crew are available for the scheduled traffic programme, monitoring the fleet, preparing revised traffic plans in the event of irregularities, and keeping all stakeholders informed of deviations from the schedule.
Your duties and responsibilities
• Participate in daily traffic coordination and plan flight departures and duty rosters in close collaboration with the Technical Department, station staff, cargo staff and crew members.
• Monitor crew members’ duty times and ensure that these are recorded.
• Ensure that all crew members hold valid licences, medical certificates and required training.
• Maintain close contact with the Technical Department and record all deviations from the planned traffic programme.
• Initiate EMS in the event of an incident or accident.
Your qualifications
• Relevant educational backgrounds for employment in OCC include Flight Operations Officer, Dispatcher, AFIS Operator, Traffic Assistant or a qualification in logistics.
• Flexible, calm in stressful situations, cooperative and communicative.
• Structured, precise and solution-oriented, with the ability to comply with applicable legislation and collective agreements.
• Understanding of flight and duty time limitations, legislation and manuals.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work independently.
• Good IT skills and a high level of written and spoken English.
Salary and terms of employment
Salary will be determined in accordance with the requirements of the position under Air Greenland's collective agreement with HK Service Hovedstaden.
